What is a Child Impact Report?

A child impact report is prepared by a child expert who works in Court Child Services. The purpose of a child impact report is to provide info about the experiences & needs of the child in the context of disputes before the court.

Prepared by a Psychologist or Social Worker in private practice.n3. Can make various inquiries and choose suitable experts. n4. Considers the broader family dynamics. n5. More lengthy and comprehensive report.

What questions will my child be asked?

Your children will be given the opportunity to express any thoughts or feelings about the proceedings. The Court Child Expert may ask about your child’s:n1. Relationship with parents;n2. Experiences living with each parent, including any incidents that are of concern to the Court Child Expert;n3. Weekly and daily routines, including friendships and schoolwork;n4. Feelings, emotions or beliefs in relation to their parents’ separation;n5. Relationship with siblings, if applicable. n

What happens after child Impact report?

When the child impact report is completed, the court child expert will provide the report to the ordering judge who will then officially publish the report. Your lawyer (or you, if you do not have a lawyer) will get a copy of the report when it is published.
